Detecting Burst Gravitational Waves with Wavelets and Neural Networks

Abstract

I gave this talk in a Machine Learning course during my last year of undergrad. The presentation was an overview of my attempts to detect burst gravitational waves using scaleograms and a convolution neural network. As this talk was aimed at CS students, I skip the physics details and give a brief overview of gravitational waves, LIGO, wavelets, and convolutional neural networks.
